Complete guide to estimating your Employment and Income Assistance benefits with official July 2025 rates
The Manitoba EIA Payment Calculator (also known as the Manitoba EIA Payment Estimator) helps individuals and families understand their potential monthly benefits through the Employment and Income Assistance Program. EIA provides financial help to Manitobans who have no other way to support themselves or their families, including benefits from the Rent Assist Program that helps with housing costs.
NEW: August 1, 2025 Updates Earned Income Exemption: Starting August 1, 2025, EIA recipients can earn $500 (after taxes) with no impact to benefits. For earnings over $500, 70 cents of every dollar over $500 will be deducted.
Gift Exemption Changes: Starting August 1, 2025, EIA recipients can receive gifts up to $100 per person, or up to $400 per month per household, without benefits being affected. Persons with disabilities can receive up to $500 in gifts monthly.
The Employment and Income Assistance Program serves different groups with specific eligibility criteria and benefit structures. Use the tables below based on your category:

Example: A person earns $600 at their job in August. The first $500 does not impact benefits. Of the other $100, the first $30 does not impact benefits (30% exemption), and the remaining $70 is deducted from EIA benefits.
Starting August 1, 2025, new gift exemption rules apply:

When using the Manitoba EIA Payment Estimator, consider these asset limits:
Benefits are due on the 1st of every month. Direct deposit payments are typically available 3-4 business days before month-end. Mailed cheques are sent earlier to ensure delivery by the 1st.
Note: Benefits may be delayed if you have not provided requested documents. Call the EIA Service Centre at 204-948-2888 or toll-free 1-855-944-8111 with questions.
EIA provides additional supports for those participating in employment activities:
Under the Get Ready! policy, you may continue to receive EIA benefits while attending training or education programs:
EIA provides health benefits including:
Rewarding Work Health Plan: When leaving EIA for work or training, you may receive prescription drug, dental, and optical benefits for up to two years for yourself and your children.
