The Canada EVAP Incentive Calculator helps consumers and businesses estimate the federal rebate they can receive when purchasing or leasing an eligible electric vehicle under the Electric Vehicle Affordability Program. The program runs from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2031, with eligible transactions starting February 16, 2026 .

Incentives are applied at the point of sale by registered dealerships and decline over the program's lifespan. The total program investment is $2.3 billion over five years, targeting over 840,000 new electric vehicles .

Lease Incentive Proration

For lease transactions of 12 months or longer, the incentive is prorated based on lease length. The formula is :

Vehicle Requirements

  • Final transaction value $50,000 or less (non-Canadian EVs)
  • No price cap for Canadian-made EVs
  • Manufactured in Canada or FTA country
  • Meets Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards
  • Highway-capable with at least 4 wheels
  • New vehicle or demonstrator (under 10,000 km)

Buyer Limits

  • Individuals: 1 incentive over 5 years
  • Businesses/Organizations: Up to 10 incentives
  • Non-profits & Charities: Up to 10 incentives
  • Municipal/Provincial fleets: Up to 10 per fleet
  • Carsharing companies: Up to 50 per year (approved)
