Complete guide to Canada Child Benefit (CCB) payments Estimator for the July 2025 to June 2026 payment period
The Canada Child Benefit (CCB) is a tax-free monthly payment made to eligible families to help with the cost of raising children under 18 years of age. The amount you receive is based on your adjusted family net income (AFNI), the number of children in your care, and their ages.
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) determines your CCB entitlement each year when you file your tax return. Payments are based on:
Your AFNI is calculated as:
| Income Range | Reduction Formula |

| Less than $37,487 | Maximum benefit – no reduction |
| $37,487 to $81,222 | Reduced by percentage based on number of children |
| Greater than $81,222 | Reduced by fixed amount + percentage of income over $81,222 |
| Child's Age | Annual Maximum | Monthly Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Under 6 years | $7,997 | $666.41 |
| 6 to 17 years | $6,748 | $562.33 |
These maximum amounts apply if your AFNI is below $37,487.
| Number of Children | Reduction Percentage |
|---|---|
| 1 child | 7% of income over $37,487 |
| 2 children | 13.5% of income over $37,487 |
| 3 children | 19% of income over $37,487 |
| 4 or more children | 23% of income over $37,487 |
| Number of Children | Fixed Reduction | Plus Percentage |

| 2 children | $5,904 | 5.7% of income over $81,222 |
| 3 children | $8,310 | 8% of income over $81,222 |
| 4 or more children | $10,059 | 9.5% of income over $81,222 |
Maximum amount: $7,997
Income over $37,487: $45,000 - $37,487 = $7,513
Reduction (7%): $7,513 × 0.07 = $525.91
Annual payment: $7,997 - $525.91 = $7,471.09 ($622.59/month)
Maximum amount: $7,997 × 2 = $15,994
Income over $37,487: $60,000 - $37,487 = $22,513
Reduction (13.5%): $22,513 × 0.135 = $3,039.25
Annual payment: $15,994 - $3,039.25 = $12,954.75 ($1,079.56/month)
Maximum amount: $6,748 × 3 = $20,244
Income over $37,487: $50,000 - $37,487 = $12,513
Reduction (19%): $12,513 × 0.19 = $2,377.47
Annual payment: $20,244 - $2,377.47 = $17,866.53 ($1,488.88/month)
Maximum amount: $7,997
Income over $81,222: $100,000 - $81,222 = $18,778
Reduction: $3,061 + ($18,778 × 0.032) = $3,061 + $600.89 = $3,661.89
Annual payment: $7,997 - $3,661.89 = $4,335.11 ($361.26/month)
Maximum amount: $6,748 × 4 = $26,992
Income over $81,222: $200,000 - $81,222 = $118,778
Reduction: $10,059 + ($118,778 × 0.095) = $10,059 + $11,283.91 = $21,342.91
Annual payment: $26,992 - $21,342.91 = $5,649.09 ($470.76/month)
